And now for something completely knitting...

Ok, so it has been a while since I posted...
I have been super busy with my knitting since the first of the year, many neat projects pics at the bottom :)

Also, my sister and I have started a crafting group at her church on Thursday's while our kids are at AWANA group. So far not many takers but hopefully work will get out and the numbers will increase.

I am going to try and post more often (once a week at least...) It just seems that I have little to say sometimes (like now :P) and so why bother??? But I am going to try some new things and so will have that to talk about if nothing else :)

Ok, time for pics...

My first time...

So I was watching some YouTube and decided I should try some colorwork. I grabbed some Red Heart (Black for the main color and Red for the pattern), and knit up a couple of rows in each, then back to the black with some accents in red... pretty much making it up as I went. And now I have a cellphone purse in Fair Isle :)

 Flur de Leis
Kinda sloppy but I feel is not bad for a first attempt :)

The 13' scarf...

So, having knit all these scarves lately I had determined that I would do at least one of them diagonally, fairly easy once you get the pattern down, and decided to see just how long I could make it... turns out one ball of the particular yarn I was using gets you 13' of garter stitch with 16 stitches on 10mm needles... I have now decided this is too long so I will be cutting it in half... yes, cutting it in half and getting two 6'ish scarves out of it.
I was kind of nervous when I first thought about it but have done my research and it will be fine, I think, and I should be able to remove enough from the middle and frogg enough to re-bind off both scarves...
So, fingers crossed I should have this done by the weekend, will let you know how it goes :)

In the beginning...

I have been knitting for about 23 years and have recently had more time on my hands so I decided to do more with my knitting.

Over the years I have started so many projects I have not finished that it is embarassing!

I determined to stop stopping...

I have been practicing this new determination over the last few months and have finished several projects: 1 6' x 6' blanket, 7 scarves and 4 wash cloths. Am working on finishing up 3 pairs of baby booties (just need the buttons and bows), 7 teddy bears (all parts knit, just need to stuff an sew) & a baby blanket with matching baby doll blanket (doll blanket is knit just need to crochet the edge, big blanket is about 40% knit)...

Feeling pretty good about it all :)
